Digital Signage: Historical Women
One of my biggest projects during my Women and Gender Equity program internship was creating digital signage to promote awareness for Women’s History Month by highlighting historic women. I researched, designed, and displayed profiles of three impactful women from diverse careers and backgrounds.
Valentina Tereshkova – The first woman in space; paved the way for future female astronauts despite having no pilot training.
Sarojini Naidu – A poet and political leader; was the first woman to serve as a governor in India and played a key role in India’s independence movement.
Junko Tabei – A mountaineering pioneer; became the first woman to summit Mount Everest and the Seven Summits, breaking gender barriers in the sport.

I used similar fonts, photo placements, and branding elements throughout the designs to maintain consistency. If I recreated this project today, I would add a general Women’s History Month title, include a QR code linking to the Inclusion Center’s Women and Gender Equity program, and adjust the fact section’s font to match the logo in the bottom right corner.
Through this project, I became familiar with the university’s marketing guidelines, conducted in-depth research, and strengthened my skills in copywriting and design. Each design was showcased weekly throughout March across state-wide campuses, allowing me to contribute to a broader conversation on representation and inclusion.
